I dont know if anyone loves Virginia Woolf as much as I do lol but IF you do or even if you are slightly interested in her you might be interested to know that there is a clip of her talking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8czs8v6PuI

It was so beautiful I'll never stop listening to it over and over. I had no idea that anything like this existed until by sheer hopeful curiosity I looked it up on youtube.

Oh! Tears of joy!!! lol (is literally containing mountains of excitement!!!!) X.x Very Happy!!!!

I just listened to her (writer Virginia Woolf) recorded voice and I can say is...Thanks, for sharing! Cool

I hope you don't mind, but I have embedded the video in order for other to hear and view this wonderful English writer speak...

According to the lady who posted the clip... This is the only surviving recording of Virginia Woolf's voice. It is part of a BBC radio broadcast from April 29th, 1937. The talk was called "Craftsmanship" and was part of a series entitled "Words Fail Me".
The audio is accompanied by a slideshow of photographs of Virginia Woolf.

The text was published as an essay in "The Death of the Moth and Other Essays" (1942), and I've transcribed the recorded portion here:

Awesome!! thanks! Very Happy I havent seen it yet and am a little apprehensive about it. It may be a couple of years before I can watch it. I have this thing where I can not read anything written about her (unless we are talking about the book written by her nephew (i believe) lol) I don't want to take in anyone else's opinion on her other than the one im making for myself by reading her diaries, letters, essays, stories that sort of thing lol. Its WEIRD i know but its just something i have to do to fully experience the greatness that is Virginia Woolf. The only movie that I have seen that dealt with her is The Hours in which case Meryl Streep won because I have have have to watch Meryl always LOL. Anyway The Hours ended up being my favorite movie of all time. Probably one of the best movie I've ever seen. Someday I hope to watch that movie and read everything written about her but until I feel like I've got a clear headed solid opinion of who she was and what she was like I cannot.

Ugh. I'm weird lol but there it is :p

B.D., I just found the answer to my own question over there on Wiki and it's...no...below is the reason for the film title.

The play's title, which alludes to the English novelist Virginia Woolf, is a parody of the song "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" from Walt Disney's animated version of The Three Little Pigs.

Because obtaining the rights to use the music would have been expensive, most stage versions, and the film, have Martha sing to the tune of "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush".

This melody fits the meter fairly well and is in the public domain. In the first few moments of the play, it is revealed that someone sang the song earlier in the evening at a party, although who first sang it (Martha or some other anonymous party guest) remains unclear. Martha repeatedly needles George over whether he found it funny.

Albee said he got the idea for the play's title from a line of graffiti scrawled on a mirror in a bar.

I was in there having a beer one night, and I saw "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" scrawled in soap, I suppose, on this mirror. When I started to write the play it cropped up in my mind again. And of course, who's afraid of Virginia Woolf means who's afraid of the big bad wolf . . . who's afraid of living life without false illusions. And it did strike me as being a rather typical, university intellectual joke.

— Edward Albee [2]

I think a good place to start would be one of her official website....
VIRGINIA WOOLF SOCIETY
VIRGINIA WOOLF'S ONLINE LITERATURE

I was going to recommend Wiki(pedia), but I forgot that sometimes people "tamper" with their information.

B.D., I have not watched the film The Hours yet, but after reading your ringing endorsement and the "rave" review over there on IMDB...I plan to check it out!...real soon!

Thanks, Wink Smile

B.D., I most definitely, will discuss the film The Hour after I watch the film.
By the way, have you watched the film Julie and Julia yet?...
...I know a fellow blogger, who truly enjoyed watching the film Julie and Julia starring actresses Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
Now she have piqued my interest in the film Julie and Julia too!

As a matter of fact, I feature books and authors on one of my blogs and I featured or focused on the book for the film (Julia and Julia) a couple of months ago...and it seems like a very interesting book indeed!

B.D., There was nothing wrong with your response...I asked you..."Did actress Elizabeth Taylor, portray her in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
...and since I never watched the film Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf neither...
...hence, the reasons for my question (and research) and your response.

Bette Davis

La Streep will be nodded for her brilliant performance in Julie and Julia and will probably win her third Oscar.

I love The Hours, it was so sad and heartbreaking Crying or Very sad
Beautiful score by Philip Glass..I went out and bought the CD and I have been listening to it a lot.
